Content Permissions to Authors & Editors

CSMFL Publications holds intellectual property rights to the content published in CSMFL books. For any content reproduction and reuse, specific permission needs to be received via CSMFL Content Licensing.

For personal non-commercial use, the chapters or books can be purchased individually by the readers. The readers can also access chapters and books published by CSMFL Publications via EBSCOhost and other content subscription services via their institutional libraries.

It is to be noted here that the chapters or books purchased are for the private usage of the user. In case, you want to further share the same, otherwise than as allowed, or photocopying, scanning, or disseminating the same electronically, you must have a license for the same. A commercial reuse license can be purchased by writing to CSMFL Content Licensing.

When an author publishes with CSMFL Publications, they retain their right to use their work for scholarly and teaching purposes.

Those authors whose chapters are published in our edited books are provided licensed PDF copies of their chapters without any charge.

Furthermore, the edited books’ editors and chapter authors are provided contributors’ special discounts for purchasing ebook and print copies.

Authors’ Rights for Content Re-use

For describing the rights of published chapter authors in the case of edited books, the book chapters can be categorized into the following categories:

Authors Submitted Manuscript (ASM): This is the form and format in which the authors have originally submitted their chapters for review.

Accepted Manuscript (AM): This is the form and format in which the submitted chapter has been accepted after its review for the final inclusion and publication into a CSMFL book. The accepted manuscript is not yet formatted for its inclusion in the book.

Published Version (PV): This is the form of the chapter in which it is finally included and published in a CSMFL book. This form includes proper pagination according to the book’s index.

Allowed Content Re-use by CSMFL Authors

The CSMFL authors can reuse the content in the following manner:

Make photocopies of your book chapter for teaching and classroom purposes The authors can use ASM, AM, or PV form of chapters.
Make photocopies of your book chapter for conferences or as handouts The authors can use ASM and AM form of chapters. For using the PV form, ask for permission via CSMFL Content Licensing.
Inclusion of your book chapter in your dissertation or thesis The authors can use ASM and AM form of chapters. For using the PV form, ask for permission via CSMFL Content Licensing.
Reuse figures or extracts in other works authored by you The authors can use the figures or extracts from ASM, AM, or PV freely.
Reuse or republish the entirety of your work in any future works The author can reuse subject to the condition that you are mentioned as the author or editor of the future works. Mentioning the first publication status is recommended here.
Deposit your book chapter in your institutional repository Only ASM or AM (after the date of book publication) form can be used for the purpose. Alternatively, only chapter abstracts with DOI links can be shared by the author.
Deposit book chapter in your personal or institutional website Only ASM or AM (after the date of book publication) form can be used for the purpose. Alternatively, only chapter abstracts with DOI links can be shared by the author.
Email your book chapter Only ASM or AM (after the date of book publication) form can be emailed on personal requests for their own personal use or for the purpose of referring to the published chapter in their own works subject to the proper citation of the published chapter. For using the PV form, ask for permission via CSMFL Content Licensing.
Posting book chapters on social media (Academia, ResearchGate, LinkedIn, etc.) The authors can only share the chapter title, abstract with DOI link of the publication on social media websites.
